What is Your Favorite Summer Memory?

Is it catching minnows while  fishing for perch and bass with a buddy? Climbing a towering oak to reach a sacred spot in the  treehouse?  How about “Hearts” “Crazy Eights”, or “Euchre games til dawn? Paddling boats around the lake with your brother or sister? Beach volleyball with best buddies? Body surfing the waves on Lake Michigan with your Mom?  Sunburns, smokey bonfires and s’mores?  How about diving off a dock for the first time?  Remember inner tubes and canoeing down a crystal clear stream? Climbing a gigantic 450 foot dune in 28 minutes flat! Tandem  bicycle trips to a country store? Fun on a farm with lots of animals?  Gathering eggs for a super breakfast together with your Dad cooking over the grill ?  Remember pollywogs and frogs? A rope swing through the trees?  Early “polar bear” swims with the mist rising on a still lake?   How about loading into a car for  a night at the drive- in theatre? What about a ride on miniature locomotive ?  Putt putt golf challenges?  If this is what memories are made of- we have it all here! Come to Northern Michigan and unplug.. better yet, get connected with your inner child or child again.

You’ll have a blast!

Good Harbor Vacations is located in the heart of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and just 20 minutes from Traverse City. Located on M-22/Good Harbor Highway, between Glen Arbor and Leland. We are nestled in the woods very near the water and nature abounds here.

It is our privilege to offer rental rooms, cabins, and cottages for your family vacation experience. We look forward to sharing the best of Leelanau County with you soon. Call us to inquire about vacation opportunities for the 2010 season. (231) 866-1079

It is the mission of Good Harbor Vacations & Bass Lake Cottages to provide a place of rest and retreat; a place to fish, hunt, swim, play, ride, sightsee, hike, cross country and downhill ski, snowshoe, walk the trails, or just visit and relax with family and friends. Meals on the grill, movies at the drive-in, marshmallows over the campfire pit, and nightly star gazing are some of the amenities avaliable to guests… This is still the best place to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

Not much has really changed since Bass Lake Cottages first opened its doors to the public in 1937. The cars that traverse the highway certainly look different, some new restaurants have sprung up and the cottages have all been modernized, but the great spirit of family and the Sleeping Bear Dunes still remain. Cottagers can still gather fresh eggs and catch fish for dinner. The flowers in the garden are tended and have only become even more beautiful with age.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
